General Information for the Home Arts Exhibit at the 2024 Fluvanna County Fair.
Display Hours
The Home Arts Exhibit will be manned at the following times:
Thursday, August 15th: 5– 9 pm
Friday, August 16th: 5 – 9 pm
Saturday, August 17th: 10 am – 9 pm
Age Groups
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons will be awarded for each category in each age group:
Adult (18+)
Youth (11 - 17)
Child (10 & Under)
General Rules
- There is no entry fee.
- Participants must be current Fluvanna County residents.
- Only one (1) entry per subcategory per person is permitted.
- Items must have been completed, grown or canned/jarred in Fluvanna County by the entrant in the past twelve (12) months.
- Booth Attendants will do all they can to protect exhibits, but ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGED, LOST OR STOLEN ARTICLES.
- Items may either be displayed hanging or folded, at the discretion of the fair.
- Pre-registration is strongly encouraged to expedite the entry process. You can register online starting Monday, July 1st through Monday, August 12th.
Entry Drop-Off
- Entries will be accepted at the Home Arts Exhibit located at theCounty Fair at Pleasant Grove. Entrants can park in the lot behind the Pleasant Grove House to drop off items. The booth will be in front of the restroom building (across the road from the farm museum) under a canopy.
- Each entry will receive a receipt and must be presented whenpicking up the entry.
Entries will accepted on:
All categories except Baked Goods and Flowers/Plants:
· Wednesday, August 14th from 3pm to 7pm
· Thursday, August 15th from 12pm to 4pmBaked goods and Flowers/Plants:
· ONLY accepted on Friday, August 16th from 12:30pm to 2pm
No entries will be accepted after 4pm on Thursday, August 15 (non-perishable items) and after 2pm on Friday, August 16 (baked goods and flowers/plants)Entry Pick-Up
- Entries maybe picked up at the Home Arts booth on Sunday, August 18th between 12pm and 4pm. They may not be picked up early.
- You must bring the receipt you were given when you dropped off your entry. If you have someone else pick up your entry, they must bring the receipt with them. We want to make sure that the entries are returned to the correct participant.
- Any entry not picked up by 4pm on August 18th becomes property of the Fair and is subject to disposal unless other pick-up arrangements have been made.
Judging Times
- All categories except for Baked Goods and Flowers/Plants will be judged starting at 10am on Friday, Aug. 16.
- Baked Goods and Flowers/Plants will be judged starting at 2pm on Friday, Aug. 16.
